Jams and Jellies

Learn how to preserve the luscious fruits of summer in easy to make jams and jellies that taste wonderful and make great gifts.

In this hands on cooking class students will learn how to make classic fruit jams preserved in glass jars, as well as, super easy freezer jams. We'll make strawberry and other fruit jams, and hot pepper jelly.

Some of the recipes will use old fashion pectin, which needs high sugar concentrations but some will also use low sugar alternatives.

The lecture will also cover chutneys, marmalades, and fruit preserves. There will be many jams to taste and everyone will go home with sweet treats.
